Real Madrid star furiously lashes out at Liverpool star Szoboszlai after incident

Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai has had a dramatic week during the international break, and it has not been an enjoyable one for him.

Szoboszlai linked up with the Hungary squad after a disastrous week for Liverpool, in which Arne Slot’s side crashed out of the Champions League and lost the Carabao Cup final.

The midfielder has been superb for the Reds this season, but even he was powerless to help Hungary against Turkey, as they lost 6-1 on aggregate over two legs in their Nations League Playoff tie.

With the second leg at the Puskas Arena in Budapest ending 3-0 to Turkey, the Liverpool star found himself at the centre of a storm, after an incident involving Real Madrid teenager Arda Guler.

The two midfielders were at each others’ throats during the game, but this escalated in the hours that followed.

Szoboszlai fired a shot at Guler over the number of minutes he has played this season, with the Turkey star struggling to break into the team at Real Madrid, but the 19-year-old has now fired back with venom at the Liverpool ace.

“This guy is a joke. Isn’t six goals enough to shut you up?” Guler posted on his Instagram story, with a scoreline photo edited to read “Szoboszlai Instagram comment” alongside Turkey’s 3-0 victory, in which Guler scored.

Has Dominik Szoboszlai lost the battle against Arda Guler?

Unfortunately for the Liverpool midfielder, Guler has probably won this mini-war between the two stars.

Turkey were rampant in both legs against Hungary, and Guler scored in the second leg, finishing off a move which stemmed from Szoboszlai losing the ball.

Whilst Szoboszlai has played more minutes than Guler this season, he is the older and more experienced player, and given that he was part of the losing side in both games, he has very little to hit back at Guler with for now.

Although it was a tough week for Szoboszlai for club and country, his focus will now resume to proceedings at Anfield, where Liverpool are 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League.
