Crystal Palace enter race for Lewis Koumas amid new Liverpool exit news
Liverpool youth star Lewis Koumas is expected to attract significant interest in the summer transfer window.
The Reds loanee is enjoying a loan spell in the Championship with Stoke City and has notched six goals and three assists in all competitions.
That form has led to suggestions that he could be among Arne Slot‘s first-team squad next season but the Reds may sanction a departure if the fee is right.
Koumas attracting Crystal Palace interest despite Freedman exit
Liverpool are braced for bids for Koumas in the summer and a Premier League rival could offer the Welsh international an escape route from Anfield.
A report from Alan Nixon, via his Patreon (23 March) claims that the departing Eagles sporting director Dougie Freedman has left Oliver Glasner a list of targets for the transfer window.
It states that the Reds ace is a player that Freedman likes and therefore he could be on the list.
Liverpool will struggle to keep hold of Koumas
The Anfield outfit will struggle to keep the 19-year-old as he seeks first-team football to continue his development.
That is something that Slot cannot offer him right now, even with his poor form of the likes of Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez, he cannot risk starting a player that might not be ready for the rigours of Premier League football.

If Palace offers Koumas a pathway to a regular starting spot in the top flight then the L4 club cannot stand in the Welshman’s way, given the Londoners’ record for developing promising young players.
Sitting on the bench for the Reds or featuring in the youth ranks will not benefit him at this stage of his career and the Selhurst Park club may offer an attractive proposition if they are willing to give him the right assurances to take his career forward that he would not get at Anfield.
Koumas is highly-rated on Merseyside but it remains to be seen how the club will react if they receive a suitable bid for his services, given that he has a long route to a starting role under Slot.
