Liverpool exit talks underway as FSG blasted over ‘worrying’ developments

FSG have some big worries on their plate with a few Liverpool players seemingly already in talks about an Anfield exit.

Arne Slot’s first season in charge of the Reds has been a success thus far.

While Liverpool were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League and beaten in the Carabao Cup final in the same week, they still look on track to lift their second-ever Premier League title.

Therefore, despite recent disappointments, Slot could still cement himself as a Liverpool legend in only his first season with the club. As a result, the mood and optimism around Anfield would no doubt be high heading into the Dutchman’s second season in charge.

However, it looks as though Slot could be handed a few big blows ahead of that second season with Liverpool’s owners FSG blasted as several key players appear set to make their Anfield exits.

Liverpool could lose key trio ahead of next season

Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are three of Liverpool’s most important players. However, the Reds could be without all three next season, with Alexander-Arnold already receiving an offer from Real Madrid [TNT Sports].

The high-profile trio are all out of contract at the end of the season, and former Premier League scout Bryan King, who worked for Everton, Aston Villa and Tottenham, has questioned how FSG have allowed this to happen while speaking exclusively to Liverpool News.

“I think FSG need to start looking at why they have all these players out of contract,” King said.

“That must be worrying. What are the hierarchy doing, these things should have been put to bed. If you don’t want to keep these players, fine, make them available because they’re allowed to talk to other clubs now.

Salah, van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold are Liverpool legends

“How many of those players have perhaps already spoken to other clubs? I know it was insinuated that van Dijk was talking to the PSG owners, but you need to take what you want from that.

“However, Trent, Salah, Van Dijk, many clubs would be interested in their signatures, so why don’t Liverpool want to renew? The simplest thing for Liverpool to do is renew their contracts because otherwise, they need to find three replacements of that quality.”

Liverpool cannot lose Salah, van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold

When all is said and done, Salah, van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold will go down as Liverpool legends.

Therefore, Slot’s side cannot afford to lose all three in the same summer, as replacing them will be near-impossible. It isn’t like these are players on the decline either. Salah is arguably having the best season of his career, and van Dijk has also been in fine form.

Keeping all three might be difficult. However, Liverpool need to do everything they can to renew the contract of at least one of these players.
