Diogo Jota sends message after Liverpool Carabao Cup final loss
Diogo Jota was once again anonymous as Liverpool lost the Carabao Cup final to Newcastle.
The Reds have suffered a disappointing week, exiting the Champions League and losing the chance to secure a domestic double at Wembley in the space of five days.
The Magpies outclassed the Anfield outfit and led through goals from Dan Burn and Alexander Isak before Federico Chiesa notched a consolation in stoppage time in the 2-1 defeat.

Jota issues message to Liverpool supporters
The Portugal forward has been in dismal form, but Arne Slot still selected him to start the Wembley showcase.
However, he was hooked after 67 minutes after taking just 16 touches in the whole contest and taking just one shot, which was off-target.
Jota has sent a message to Reds supporters, in a post on his personal X account (16 March), he said: “Not good enough today! A very disappointing week for everyone that supports Liverpool.
“We will be back soon to fight for the league”

Liverpool need to win the Premier League
Liverpool are still top of the Premier League, with a 12-point margin over Arsenal with nine matches left to play.
They need to ensure that they finish the job and bring a 20th title back to Anfield at the end of the season.
Premier League | Played | GD | Points |
1. Liverpool | 29 | +42 | 70 |
2. Arsenal | 29 | +29 | 58 |
The Champions League exit and the final defeat have the chance to derail the L4 outfit’s season, but ultimately, the main target is the league success.
Those setbacks are not fatal, but the way that Slot’s side have performed in their last four matches will be a concern heading into the final two months of the campaign and momentum could slip away if they continue with those performances.
The Reds need to regroup, steady the ship, and finish the season strongly to make sure that the Gunners cannot catch them as that would be a disaster.
They have a 17-day break before the Merseyside Derby on home soil, hopefully, Slot can reinvigorate his squad and there are no blips in the final stages and the Merseysiders can lift the title in a historic first season for the Dutchman.
It would also lay the foundations for the 2025/26 season, putting a marker down on their rivals if they can canter to the title rather than just about winning it, or worse, losing it after having a commanding lead.
