Liverpool ‘to seal Alexander Isak signing’ with Carabao Cup triumph

Alexander Isak has been on the radar of several European clubs this season, but Liverpool could hold the upper hand in the race to sign him.

After their midweek Champions League exit, Liverpool will have a fire in their belly for the upcoming final at Wembley, which could provide them with more incentive than one.

Of course, Liverpool will be eager to add a trophy to their cabinet, with the Premier League trophy likely to follow at the end of the campaign.

However, Isak will want to have a say in that given his record against the Reds in previous encounters, in what could end up being the last game he plays against Liverpool under one condition.

Isak could depart Newcastle this summer

Liverpool are the favourites to have their name engraved on the trophy, which may, in turn, make them the favourites in the race to sign Isak.

If Newcastle suffer defeat, it will see the Magpies receive a major blow in their push for European football, which is likely to be the only thing that could keep the Swede at St. James Park next season.

Isak is having a brilliant campaign

Should they fail to qualify, a departure will be inevitable for Isak, and with Liverpool already said to be interested in the striker, there’s a definite situation to consider.

Isak has been outstanding for Eddie Howe’s side, and would be an excellent addition for Liveprool who have had some of their own concerns when it comes to the striker department.

Isak would be an outstanding addition to Liverpool

Liverpool are on course for a very successful campaign, though they could have been in line for even more success if they had someone like Isak in their team.

Darwin Nunez has had a mixed campaign to date, while others have failed to stake a claim for their spot in the centre of their front three.

For now, the focus will be on coming home with the trophy, though they will inevitably have one eye on the future of Isak if they are victorious.
