Mohamed Salah and Liverpool claim completely rubbished by expert – ‘Way too far’
Liverpool have enjoyed an inspired season driven relentlessly by the output of Mohamed Salah.
With a gargantuan 54 goal contributions in 42 games so far this season including 32 goals, Salah is on course to help Liverpool to the Premier League for the second time, as well as a Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United lined up on Sunday.
The Egyptian – on course for all manner of individual awards alongside his anticipated collective achievements with the Reds – has been highly publicised not just for his world-class performances but also his expiring contract this summer.

Salah accusation at Liverpool dismissed by expert
There have been various standpoints suggesting that Liverpool are in even more danger of free-fall by potentially losing Salah for nothing because they over-rely on the dynamic forward.
The 32-year-old is responsible for a huge majority of what the Reds do going forward, which simply cannot be denied.
TV commentator and football analysis expert Ian Darke, speaking exclusively to Liverpool News, has weighed in on the discourse and denied Liverpool and Arne Slot are over-reliant on their talisman.
“Salah has certainly been absolutely fantastic and he’s heading towards winning all the Player of the Year awards,” Darke said.
“He’s definitely been a match-winner, but it’s definitely going way too far to suggest he’s carried them to where they are.
“Other players have shone – Szoboszlai and Mac Allister have been recent examples, and van Dijk has been fantastic in parts. It’s a very smooth engine at Liverpool in the league especially, and good teams have great players who win games for them.”

Slot and his side gunning for two trophies
Slot may have witnessed his side dumped from the Champions League in the cruellest of circumstances on Tuesday night (11 March), but attention has to immediately avert to the Carabao Cup final.
Sunday’s Wembley clash with Newcastle (16 March) could arguably be more difficult than a final against beaten semi-finalists Arsenal would have been, purely down to the Magpies’ desperation for a first major trophy since 1955.
Liverpool – all-time top goalscorers | Goals | |
1 | Ian Rush | 346 |
2 | Roger Hunt | 285 |
3 | Mohamed Salah | 243* |
4 | Gordon Hodgson | 241 |
5 | Billy Liddell | 228 |
The Premier League may be but a formality, however Slot will not let his team even remotely take their foot off the gas – especially with no other distractions between Sunday and the last kick of the season.
The saga surrounding Salah, van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s respective contracts will then be expected to pick up pace, as the future of the trio beyond this summer remains uncertain.
