Ryan Gravenberch sends message to Darwin Nunez after Liverpool v PSG

Ryan Gravenberch has sent Darwin Nunez a message after Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) beat Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Anfield hosted Luis Enrique’s team in the last-16’s second leg on 11 March as Ousmane Dembele scored early on.

The Reds had a one-goal advantage going into the fixture, but the tie eventually went to penalties, where the Ligue 1 outfit won and qualified for the quarter-finals.

Nunez missed from the spot against PSG, followed by Curtis Jones, which made things easy for the French club in the shootout.

While the 25-year-old attacker came on as a substitute in the second half at Anfield, Gravenberch played the entire game.

The midfielder reacted with a heart emoji on Nunez’s social media post as Liverpool look to get over their disappointment against PSG.

Slot will not be convinced by Nunez

Nunez has struggled since moving to Anfield, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him leave once the transfer window reopens.

The Uruguayan striker has failed to convince many fans since completing his big-money move from Benfica a couple of years back, and his recent displays haven’t been encouraging.

Slot hasn’t trusted the 25-year-old this season and has opted to instead rely on Luis Diaz as his number nine on several occasions.

Diogo Jota also seems ahead of Nunez in the pecking order, making it clear that the Dutch manager has little faith in him.

Slot obviously brought the Uruguay international on against the Ligue 1 outfit to make an impact, but he was unable to do so.

With the Premier League all but sealed at Anfield, the Champions League was one of the major competitions left for the Reds to make a mark in.

Nunez may have played his final Champions League game in a Reds shirt, but he still has work to do until the end of the season.
