Mohamed Salah clashes with Alexander-Arnold as Liverpool training footage emerges

Liverpool face Paris Saint-Germain in a huge Champions League clash on Tuesday.

The Reds hold a 1-0 advantage heading into the round of 16 contest at Anfield on 11 March after their smash-and-grab victory in the French capital last week.

However, tensions may be running high on Merseyside after an altercation was spotted in training.

Salah and Alexander-Arnold involved in chaotic scenes

Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold were involved in a confrontation during the open training session in Kirkby ahead of the clash.

Luckily, for Reds supporters, they mess around all the time in training, so it is unlikely to be a serious falling out.

The L4 outfit needs both men on top form for a tough clash against the Parisians, which will define how successful their season is.

Liverpool need Salah and Alexander-Arnold to perform

The Reds came away from the Parc Des Princes with a win somehow despite the hosts absolutely battering them and need a completely different performance at Anfield, if they are to keep their advantage.

Luis Enrique’s side recorded 70 per cent possession, 27 shots, with 10 on target in the last encounter but Alisson was in inspired form as he picked up the Man of the Match award in what he described as the best performance of his life.

The Brazilian goalkeeper needs help from his teammates on this occasion, if the L4 outfit are to progress to the quarter-finals.

Alexander-Arnold was solid defensively against Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in Paris despite the hosts’ dominance but could not get anything going when the Reds had possession despite his brilliant ability on the ball.

Meanwhile, Salah had several touches in the penalty box but was never able to turn them into a chance or a shot as Nuno Mendes was constantly harassing the Egyptian.

It would be foolish to bet against Salah as he has constantly stepped up for Arne Slot’s side this season with 32 goals and 22 assists in 41 matches putting him in pole position for the Ballon d’Or.

He could drastically increase his chances to win that award with a big performance against the Paris outfit on Merseyside.
