Liverpool have to sign up ‘incredible’ Tottenham ace amid Robertson exit news
Andy Robertson seems to be set to leave Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The Scotland captain has been a reliable servant to the Anfield outfit throughout his near eight-year spell on Merseyside, helping the club to Premier League and Champions League success.
However, the veteran who will turn 31 in March is a shadow of his former self and could be axed with the Reds already looking for a long-term successor for Robertson at left-back.
They may find his replacement at Tottenham, who look set to be without European football next season unless they win the Europa League.

Liverpool should make Destiny Udogie move
Destiny Udogie has emerged as one of the best left-backs in English football since his move from Udinese in August 2022.
Former Red Stephen Warnock labelled one particular stat about the Italian as “absolutely incredible” in March 2024.
Speaking on the 2 Robbies podcast one year ago, he said: “Udogie’s had the most dribbles in midfield this season. It’s incredible. It’s absolutely incredible. But he’s got so much power, running with the ball.
“He’s arguably one of the best dribblers of the ball, because he glides past players and pushes it. He’s got that strong right arm just to brush people off. I love him, absolutely love him.”
The 22-year-old has struggled with injuries this season as a crisis has engulfed Ange Postecoglou’s side but his fitness could be managed better under Arne Slot.

Tottenham star Udogie would fit at Liverpool
The Italian defender is not as potent as the Scotsman when it comes to attacking but he would offer significantly more defensive security for the Reds.
Stats per 90 (Premier League) | Udogie | Robertson |
Expected assists | 0.06 | 0.15 |
Chances creates | 0.7 | 1.60 |
Tackles won | 2.12 | 0.93 |
Recoveries | 5.10 | 3.87 |
Udogie creates just 0.06 expected assists and 0.7 chances per 90 minutes compared to Robertson’s 0.15 expected assists and 1.60 chances created.
However, this could be because Tottenham have less of the ball than Slot’s side and the fact that they have endured an abysmal season.
In terms of defending though, he has won 2.12 tackles, 59.1 per cent of ground duels and made 5.10 recoveries per 90 minutes.
In comparison to the Spurs man, the Reds legend has won just 0.93 tackles, 47.1 per cent of ground duels and made 3.87 recoveries.
If the Lilywhites fail to qualify for the Champions League, the Reds may be able to test the waters and secure their left-back of the future and make themselves more defensively secure in the process.
