Luis Diaz ‘to become Liverpool hero again’ after what just happened at PSG

Liverpool will be hopeful that Luis Diaz can finally return to his best ahead of the Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

The Colombia international started the season in excellent fashion at Anfield, scoring five in his first five Premier League games.

It is safe to say that this excellence has fallen away as the campaign has gone on, which Arne Slot would love to see return in the business end.

Given how PSG lined up on Saturday ahead of their trip to Anfield for the second leg of the round of 16, it is fair to assume that the 28-year-old could be set to flourish.

Diaz could start against Warren Zaire-Emery v PSG

The Parisians are preparing to travel to Merseyside on Tuesday (11 March) after falling to defeat in the first leg last week.

A Harvey Elliott goal at the Parc des Princes proved to be the difference on a night where the home side dominated for almost the entire 90 minutes.

With that being said, the Reds will be keen to make the most of their one goal advantage in L4 to help secure a place in the Champions League quarter final.

Slot will need his best players to step up to help achieve that goal and it is safe to say that Diaz has the potential to be one of those.

The Colombian’s life could be made easier if he is to line up against Warren Zaire-Emery, who started out of position at right-back for PSG against Stade Rennes.

The 19-year-old is typically a central midfielder and given his lack of experience in the full-back role, it could be the perfect chance for the former Porto winger to shine.

As an experienced forward against a largely inexperienced player in that role, there is no reason why the Liverpool forward can’t prove to be a match winner.

Liverpool desperate for win v PSG

After Arsenal fell to a draw against Manchester United on Sunday (9 March), it is safe to assume that the Premier League title is making its way to Anfield.

As a result, Slot would be best placed putting all of his eggs in the Champions League basket after a positive result against PSG last time out.

Mohamed Salah will be hoping to put in a better performance but he does need support from the likes of Diaz to do so.

There is only so much that the L4 club can rely on Alisson and instead, there needs to be a better attitude shown by the forward players.
