Liverpool fans rage at ‘appalling’ Pedro Neto reveal – ‘Finished’

Liverpool could be set to lose Mohamed Salah for free at the end of the season.

The Egyptian winger has enjoyed a remarkable season and looks set to drag the Reds to Premier League glory.

Salah has notched 30 goals and 22 assists in 40 matches in all competitions in a historic campaign on Merseyside.

However, the Anfield outfit are yet to agree on a new deal with the 32-year-old and would have a near-impossible job to replace him in the transfer window if he departs.

Liverpool interest in Pedro Neto revealed

The Reds were interested in a deal for Pedro Neto if Salah left for Saudi Arabia, according to Telegraph journalist Matt Law.

However, the report (7 March) claims that since the Egypt ace stayed on Merseyside, the need for a new right winger was avoided scuppering any potential move for the Chelsea star.

Considering that Salah has notched 42 goal contributions in the Premier League and Neto only has seven, it is safe to say it was the correct decision for the player and the club.

Liverpool fans furious at Neto development

Reds supporters are furious with the update, especially given the implications it could have if Salah does end up leaving.

Replacing a player who is amongst the favorites for the prestigious Ballon d’Or with somebody who has only scored three league goals would be negligent.

Fenway Sports Group need to break their strict wage structure and sign Salah to a new deal, he is at the peak of his powers and has shown no sign of slowing down, it would not be fair to Arne Slot if he only got to work with Salah for one season.

It is unthinkable that the Egyptian could leave Merseyside after guiding the club to the league title and perhaps a Champions League trophy and a Carabao Cup.

If the Reds decide to revive their interest in Neto as his replacement, it will be a damning indictment of the recruitment team and the owners and it is safe to say that fans would be raging and highly doubtful of the club’s ambitions going forward.
