Ian Rush sends Harvey Elliott message after Liverpool heroics v PSG

Harvey Elliott produced a moment of magic as Liverpool picked up a huge first win against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

The Reds were dominated for the majority of the contest in the French capital (5 March) but Arne Slot’s substitutions made the difference in the dying embers.

Darwin Nunez and Elliott combined to give the Merseysiders a one-goal advantage heading into the second leg at Anfield next week.

It was a brilliant moment for the England Under-21 ace after a tough season under the new manager.

Ian Rush wowed by Harvey Elliott after PSG win

Ian Rush is one of the biggest names in Liverpool’s history, the Welshman scored 346 goals which makes him the Anfield outfit’s top goalscorer of all-time.

After Elliott’s display from the bench against the Parisians, the 63-year-old sent the Reds ace a message on Instagram.

He commented on a post from the 21-year-old with two clapping hands emoji.

Elliott can revive Liverpool career after PSG display

The Reds star enjoyed a terrific albeit underrated campaign last season, putting up some of the best creative numbers in the Premier League.

However, the former Fulham ace has struggled in Slot’s first season in the dugout after he replaced Jurgen Klopp.

Elliott’s stats this season.

After an injury suffered at the start of the season, he has not been able to force his way into the Dutchman’s plans regularly, featuring for just 507 minutes across 18 appearances in all competitions.

The lack of game time for the English ace led to speculation that he could leave, with Borussia Dortmund and Brighton interested in his services.

However, he chose to stay and fight for his place and that decision has been justified, his strike against the Paris outfit was by far his biggest contribution this season and could revive his Reds career under the former Feyenoord man.

He could play a pivotal role for the L4 club in their pursuit of the Premier League title and the Champions League if Slot decides to trust him after he stepped up in the biggest moment of the season so far.
