Arne Slot facing ‘perfect problem’ at Liverpool after what Luis Diaz said

Arne Slot is enjoying a debut campaign to remember thus far at Liverpool.

The Dutchman has his Liverpool side occupying the top spot in the Premier League, sitting 13 points clear of Arsenal in second place.

The Reds also remain in the Champions League and face Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final on 16 March.

The Reds will certainly be keen to see this out as well as hoping to progress as far as they can in the Champions League as they look to add more silverware in an already packed Anfield trophy room.

While things might be going well on the pitch, though, the boss hasn’t always faced the easiest decisions off the pitch.

Speaking to the official Liverpool website, Luis Diaz spoke about Slot’s arrival at the club as he said: “Our coach has settled in really well at the club.”

However, he also acknowledged the difficult decisions the boss has had to face as he admitted: “He’s known just exactly how to manage the group and every single player that he has in the squad because it cannot be easy for any coach when he has two or three excellent alternatives for each position on the field to make decisions on who to play and who to leave out.

“It’s not an easy task but he’s been up to it and he’s also given confidence to every single player in his squad.”

Slot has luxury problem at Liverpool

As Diaz says, Slot has a number of absolutely quality players in his squad, many of whom would easily get a place in most Premier League squads.

However, with so much talent in the squad, choosing which of the quality players to go with has got to be a massive headache for the boss as he prepares for each game.

That being said, this is a perfect problem to have as a manager who wants his side to be chasing not just the Premier League title but also trophies both domestically and in Europe.

Having the ability to replace a quality player in the side with someone just as good means the boss certainly has the luxury of being able to make changes when things aren’t quite working, without too much stress.

Players like Diaz have shown their importance for the Reds this term and with nine goals and three assists, he is one player who will no doubt be enjoying life under his new boss and looking ahead to the future.

Meanwhile, players like Mohamed Salah you would expect to be an immediate choice given his contributions this term and it would be surprising if Slot wasn’t doing all he could behind the scenes in order to secure a contract extension.

Nevertheless, it’s hard to see Slot faltering under these circumstances any time soon.
