Haaland sends one-word message to Szoboszlai after Liverpool win v Newcastle

Dominik Szoboszlai has recieved recognition from Erling Haaland after Liverpool beat Newcastle 2-0 in their Premier League clash on Wednesday.

The Reds earned themselves another three points at Anfield and managed to put in a fairly solid performance against Eddie Howe’s men.

Szoboszlai has been in some of the form of his career over the last couple of months with the Hungary international even netting the opener for Arne Slot’s men in their game against the Magpies.

Although the entire squad deserves their flowers for the dominant performance, Szoboszlai is the one who has been praised by Haaland.

Haaland hails Szoboszlai after Liverpool performance

The Manchester City attacker reacted to a post from former RB Salzburg teammate Szoboszlai after Liverpool’s win.

The Hungary international took to Instagram in a post that had two pictures of him in the game alongside a caption which had a skull and crossbones as well as a wand.

Haaland dropped a one-word reply to the attacking midfielder’s post which simply said: “Yeaaah”.

Szoboszlai has come into his own under Slot

Although it was Jurgen Klopp who brought Szoboszlai to Anfield last summer, the midfielder has only really started to come into his own since Slot has been the man at the helm.

While Klopp offered the midfielder plenty of opportunities to play in his starting XI, the fact that the Dutchman has moved him further up the pitch has allowed his attacking prowess to shine through.

Not only does the Hungary international have a keen eye for goal but he also has some of the best vision on Liverpool’s team and often creates something out of nothing.

Alongside Mohamed Salah, the former RB Leipzig man has been one of the Reds’ best players this season and without him among their ranks, it’s unclear whether the Merseyside outfit would have been as dominant as they have been this term.

Indeed, only time will tell whether Liverpool can keep this level of performance up as the season goes on but for now, things seem to be going swimmingly in L4.

Which, is all that fans likely wanted from Slot’s first season in charge but instead, he’s managed to get them well on their way to winning the Premier League title in his debut campaign.
