Liverpool offer blockbuster £46.8m+ deal to Salah’ as Anfield arguments exposed

Liverpool have offered Mohamed Salah a staggering new deal to stay on Merseyside, according to an Anfield insider.

The 32-year-old is enjoying a sensational season as he looks to drag the Reds to the Premier League title in Arne Slot’s first season on Merseyside.

The Egyptian has notched 25 goals and 16 assists in 27 matches and is set to break the record for the most contributions in a single top-flight season in England if he continues in the rich vein of form.

It is absolutely unthinkable that he could leave for free in the summer and Reds supporters may be encouraged by a new update.

Salah ‘offered blockbuster new deal’ at Liverpool

Former Reds star Jason McAteer believes that the Anfield outfit and the Egyptian star are not too far away on monetary terms but the length of the contract is the issue.

He thinks that the club could end up agreeing on a deal worth overall – at least – £46.8m with the superstar before the end of the campaign.

Speaking on beIN SPORTS (26 February, 19:24pm ) ahead of the Newcastle clash, the former Ireland international said: “I do think it’s the time element, he probably wants three, maybe four, Liverpool probably have offered two with an option, their option.

“He’s probably fighting over that right now, I don’t think the monetary side of it is a problem for two years for Liverpool.”

Asked by co-host Andy Gray whether Liverpool would pay £450,000 a week, he responded: “Yeah, with a year option, I think they are arguing over the time frame of it.”

Liverpool need to keep Salah

The L4 outfit needs to do everything in their power to keep the former Roma star on Merseyside past the end of the season.

The Egyptian seems to be from the same ilk as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, in terms of the fact he is in peak physical fitness and could probably play until he is 40.

He is on pace to break numerous Premier League records and take Slot’s side to the title almost singlehandedly with the crazy numbers he has put up in this campaign.

The player has indicated several times that he would like to remain on Merseyside, even joking about his situation with Gary Lineker earlier this month.

It would likely cost the club more to replace Salah who is the frontrunner for the Ballon d’Or award, than it will to pay him what he wants, so a deal must be reached given the sensational form that he has shown.

The Reds surely have to come to an agreement eventually with the aging ace, even if Fenway Sports Group has to break their wage structure in the process.

Salah is the most important out of the three out-of-contract stars, as without his goals, Slot’s side would be nowhere near the title race.
