Liverpool hold talks over £49m transfer, frustrate Premier League rivals
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are running out of their contracts at the end of the season, meaning Liverpool are bracing for a busy summer transfer window.
The importance of the aforementioned trio is not lost on Liverpool and they will be aware that they would have to stump up a significant amount of money if any of those players.
However, with only five months left on their respective contracts, the Premier League table-toppers are left with no option but to prepare for the worst-case scenario.
Therefore, it would not be a surprise if Richard Hughes has already drawn up a list of potential replacements for Alexander-Arnold, Salah and Van Dijk respectively.

Dean Huijsen pushing for summer transfer
Hughes could turn to his former employers Bournemouth to replace one of those players, with Dean Huijsen emerging as a potential Van Dijk successor.
According to TBR Football, Huijsen’s entourage are pushing his availability ahead of the summer transfer window despite only joining the Cherries last year.
Liverpool are among the clubs the Spain Under-21s international’s agents have spoken to, with more than a dozen clubs, including Aston Villa, Chelsea and Tottenham, also contacted.

Bournemouth are frustrated with Huijsen’s camp’s antics, although they are aware that he is likely to leave ahead of next season anyway.
While there is no official confirmation of the presence of a release clause in the 19-year-old’s contract, it is said to be valued at £49million.

Liverpool could replace Van Dijk with Huijsen
Whether or not Liverpool extend Van Dijk’s contract, Huijsen will be a great piece of business for them.
At 19, the Spaniard is already one of the best in his position in the Premier League, while him being a left-footed player makes him all the more attractive.
Bournemouth are keen to tie Huijsen down to a new contract and are certain to increase or remove the release clause if they do so.
That means the Reds will not get the teenager for as cheap as £49m after this summer and that is why they need to act quickly to sign him.
