Luis Diaz 8/10, 4/10 teammate stinks out Anfield – Liverpool player ratings v Wolves

Liverpool beat Wolves 2-1 in a nervy encounter at Anfield on Sunday.

The Reds restored a seven-point lead at the summit of the Premier League on 16 February after Arsenal had reduced their advantage to just four on Saturday (15 February).

First-half goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah were enough to secure victory despite a stunning Matheus Cunha consolation in the second half.

Here, Liverpool News rates the Reds out of 10, with stats from Fotmob.

Alisson – 6

Brilliant save from Munetsi in the 49th minute but nothing he could do about Cunha’s effort as he made three saves overall and 12 recoveries.

Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6 (off for Bradley, 64)

The Englishman recorded seven passes into the final third and won five of his seven ground duels for a 71 per cent success rate in a solid performance.

Konate struggles as Liverpool secure victory

Ibrahima Konate – 4 (off for Quansah, 45)

Hooked at half-time as he was nearly sent off for a second bookable offence and won just one of four aerial duels for a 25 per cent success rate.

Virgil van Dijk – 7

Completed the most passes in the contest with 65 for a 92 per cent accuracy and won all four aerial duels for a 100 per cent success rate.

Andy Robertson – 5

The Scottish international started instead of Kostas Tsimikas despite a horrid display against Everton and made two recoveries and won two of seven contested ground duels for a 29 per cent success rate against Vitor Periera’s men.

Ryan Gravenberch – 5

A subdued performance from the Dutchman as he won five out ten ground duels for a 50 per cent win rate and only made two passes into the final third.

Alexis Mac Allister – 7

Alexis Mac Allister continued from his excellent performance in the Merseyside derby as he won all three tackles he attempted and made four passes into the opposition third.

Dominic Szoboszlai – 5

The attacking midfielder created zero chances, made just one pass into the final third, and was dribbled past twice as he struggled to influence the tense encounter.

Mohamed Salah – 7

Had seven touches in the opposition box and completed the only dribble that he attempted for a 100 per cent success rate while also slotting the penalty that sealed the win.

Diogo Jota – 6 (off for Nunez, 64)

Recorded three shots and six touches in the opposition box as he threatened in his first Premier League start since the win against Chelsea in October.

Luis Diaz shines in tense Liverpool win

Luis Diaz – 8 (off for Endo, 71)

Diaz scored his first goal in ten Premier League matches in his return to the left flank and won the penalty that Salah converted while recording four touches in the Wolves penalty area and an 81 per cent pass completion.
