Nico Williams to Liverpool transfer update shared

According to transfer expert Graeme Bailey, speaking to Rousing the Kop [14 February], Liverpool are one the clubs to have held talks with Williams’ camp.

Indeed, Bailey claims that Williams’ future is “moving on in that respect”, with Liverpool asking to be kept aware of his situation.

It may well come down to Williams himself and whether he fancies a move away from Spain, where he has spent his whole career to date.

However, in an attack as talented as Slot’s at Anfield, it is clear that the Spain international can still climb another level or two.

If Williams indicates he is not planning to sign a new contract, it means he can speak with clubs outside of Spain from next January.

Liverpool are not alone in showing an interest, however, with Premier League title rivals Arsenal another said to want the attacking midfielder.

There is clearly still a long way for this transfer saga to run, then, and there will be no concrete movement before the summer.

If there is to be one marquee arrival at Anfield later this year, though, many will hope is is Athletic gem Williams.
