Salah exit latest: Liverpool star increasingly likely to exit Anfield amid rumours
Mohamed Salah is now less likely to stay at Liverpool after this season ends, according to the latest bookmakers odds.
The Egyptian’s current Anfield deal expires in the summer and he is free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs.
Reports emerged on 4 February that the 32-year-old had agreed on fresh terms with the Merseyside club. [Anfield Edition]
However, nothing has been confirmed by the Merseyside club so supporters have been left in limbo over the future of the Premier League’s top goalscorer.
Salah odds to stay at Liverpool are drifting
Bet 365 shortened the odds of an extension to 1/4 after rumours of an extension for the former Chelsea star circulated online.
However, those odds have now drifted to 3/10 meaning that Salah is less likely to stay on Merseyside than he was a week ago.
The Egyptian is 12/5 to join any Saudi Arabian club, 18/1 to join Paris Saint-Germain and 20/1 to join Real Madrid, who are also interested in fellow out-of-contract ace Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Liverpool need to get Salah extension done
The Reds can not allow Salah to leave on a free transfer in the summer, it is an unfathomable possibility given that the veteran is still at the peak of his powers and would be very hard to replace.
Salah has been in tremendous form this campaign and is the clear frontrunner for the prestigious Ballon d’Or award after his ridiculously consistent exploits.

He took his Premier League tally to 22 goals and 14 assists with his contributions in the 2-2 draw against Everton on Wednesday (12 February) despite a quiet general performance in the Goodison Park clash.
The player has indicated that he would like to remain at Anfield and even joked about his situation with Gary Lineker when the two met recently, so he seems to be relaxed despite the current impasse in negotiations.
Given his wish is to stay, surely there is a compromise that can be reached, it may require Fenway Sports Group to break their strict wage structure, but surely Salah is worth doing that for, especially if he fires the club to a Premier League title or a Champions League.
