Arne Slot ‘goes mental’ after wild Everton v Liverpool incident
Liverpool manager Arne Slot was spotted “going mental” after an incident against Everton on Wednesday.
The Reds were looking to go nine points clear at the summit of the Premier League with a victory at Goodison Park in their game in hand on Arsenal.
However, the hosts took the lead with a well-worked free-kick in the 16th minute of the contest after Iliman Ndiaye had been fouled.
Beto was on hand to latch onto a stunning pass from Jarrad Branthwaite to put the Blues ahead and send the rapturous atmosphere up a level.
Arne Slot furious reaction spotted as Liverpool concede to Everton
Tim Sherwood spotted Slot’s furious reaction after his side had fallen behind but was unsure why the Reds boss was so angry.
Speaking on Sky Sports News (12 February, 19:42pm), he said: “Liverpool switch off as Beto gets in behind Konate, who just nudges him so he can’t recover.
“Alisson comes out and Beto slides it under him. Arne Slot, on the sidelines, is going mental. I’m not actually sure why he’s arguing there – it looks fine.
“The only question was about offside but I think they’ve checked it already. 1-0. I can’t see why – the celebrations go on.”
Liverpool get back into it after Slot meltdown
The Reds quickly redeemed themselves after Slot’s meltdown on the Goodison Park touchline as the Toffees took the lead.
Alexis Mac Allister, who was judged to have fouled Ndiaye for the set-piece that led to the goal, got the Anfield outfit level with a header from Mohamed Salah’s cross in the 16th minute.
Slot’s side needs to keep their composure and find a way to break through the resilient Blues’ defence if they are to put a significant margin between themselves and the Gunners.

A nine-point gap at the top would give them a considerable advantage as they chase their first Premier League title since the 2019-20 season when they ran away with it.
If the Dutchman can guide his side to the title, it would be a remarkable achievement in his maiden season in English football after replacing Jurgen Klopp in the dugout at Anfield.
Many observers expected the former Feyenoord man to struggle to get a place in the top four but he has exceeded expectations since arriving on Merseyside with his side also topping the Champions League league-phase and reaching a Carabao Cup final.
Victory in the final derby at the Blues’ famous home stadium would give Slot a huge chance to lift the title.
