Liverpool fans blast ‘dummy’ Dejan Lovren after what he said about Mohamed Salah
Liverpool fans have shown Dejan Lovren no mercy after what he said about Mohamed Salah and his future at Anfield.
Salah faces an uncertain future at Liverpool, having entered the final six months of his contract with the Premier League giants.
The Egypt international is free to discuss a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside of England as things stand, with the Reds yet to offer a deal that is satisfactory to him.
Meanwhile, Lovren, who forged a strong friendship with Salah during his stint with the Merseyside-based club, has weighed in on the forward’s future at Anfield.
Liverpool fans tear Dejan Lovren to shreds
In comments relayed by talkSPORT (10 February), Lovren said that Salah is closer to leaving Liverpool than staying.
The centre-back also accused the Reds management of disrespecting his friend as the contract continues to drag on.
However, the statement has not been received well by Liverpool fans, with one supporter branding Lovren a “dummy” and another describing his comments as “embarrassing”.
Some even questioned the player’s friendship with Salah, with one even pointing the finger at the Egyptian for being close to the defender in the first place.

Dejan Lovren right about Mohamed Salah?
Salah is one of three Liverpool superstars who have their contracts expiring at the end of the season, with Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold being the other two.
With each passing day, it appears all three players might be headed towards the exit door at Anfield as the fans continue to wait for positive news regarding their contracts.
The Athletic reported in December that the Premier League giants have made an opening contract offer to Salah.
David Ornstein, though, clarified that the proposal does not indicate that an agreement is close between the two parties.
There is no denying that Lovren was Salah’s closest friend on Merseyside before the former’s exit in 2020.
Chances are that they are still in contact to some length and it is possible that what he is saying about the attacker’s future is true.
Liverpool fans can only hope that it is not true and Salah ends up putting pen to paper on a new deal at Anfield.
Robbie Fowler, meanwhile, thinks two of the aforementioned players may have already extended their contract.
