Liverpool fans beg for Roberto Firmino return after Saudi development – ‘Bring him home’

Liverpool supporters have called for Roberto Firmino to return to Anfield after a new development in Saudi Arabia.

The Brazilian cemented himself as a legend in his stint on Merseyside playing an underrated role in major successes under Jurgen Klopp.

He moved to Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ahli in July 2023 after he departed from Anfield but things have turned sour for the Brazilian.

Firmino was excluded from their Pro League squad after the arrival of Porto winger Galeno and could be set to depart from the Saudi side (Fabrizio Romano).

Liverpool fans call for Roberto Firmino return now

Reds supporters would take the Brazilian star back with open arms after the latest developments involving their former star.

One supporter claimed that it is “time for a return” asking “Who says no?”

Another fan went even further, tagging owner John Henry, his wife and sporting director Richard Hughes in the post, saying “Please.”

Firmino is a Liverpool legend

The Brazilian is a legend on Merseyside after playing an integral part in their success under Jurgen Klopp.

He made 362 appearances, scoring 111 goals and notching 75 assists as the Merseysiders won the Champions League, Premier League and both domestic cups in a four-season period.

His role in the Merseysiders’ triumphs often goes under the radar due to the goalscoring exploits of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

However, Firmino’s impact was vital in the title-winning campaign as the former Hoffenheim man scored winning goals in away fixtures at Southampton, Tottenham, Wolves, Crystal Palace, Chelsea, and Leicester.

It is sad to see how his career has gone following his Liverpool departure but a sensational return to Anfield is surely out of the question at this point.

The Reds legend is 33 years old and has been deemed not good enough to deserve a spot in the Saudi Outfit’s squad, he is past the peak of his powers and the benefit of signing him would be negligible.

Arne Slot has spoken about the need for a number nine that can score and facilitate goals, which is what Firmino was for Klopp but it is time to find the new Firmino rather than bringing back the old one.
