Liverpool fans ‘convinced’ Mohamed Salah ‘will sign new contract’ after triple Merson update
Liverpool supporters are convinced that their out-of-contract trio will sign new contracts after what Paul Merson said.
The Anfield outfit has still not agreed on new contracts with Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Virgil van Dijk.
The star trio are set to leave in the summer as it stands and can negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs.
The situation threatens to disrupt the Reds’ push for the Premier League and Champions League titles the longer it drags on.
Reds fans convinced after ‘pathetic’ Mohamed Salah update
Reds supporters are convinced that all three will renew after the “pathetic” update from Merson.
One supporter claimed that they will “all get announced tomorrow” now that the Sky Sports pundit has given his opinion.
Another commented that the pundit “just goes on air and says the most controversial things.”

Merson makes controversial Liverpool contracts claim
Reds supporters were reacting to a controversial claim about the Reds out-of-contract stars made by the former Arsenal man.
Speaking on Sky Sports (6 February), he said: “You know, if they go and win it this time in front of their fans, I just think Salah, Van Dijk, Trent have won the Champions League, they’ve won the Premier League in front of the fans, which will be a lot different, believe me.
“I don’t see them signing, call me a cynic, but this is, we’re talking 18 months now, whatever that may be because they get a pay rise when they sign, they don’t sign for the same.”
Merson’s claims are peculiar given that Salah and Van Dijk have publically acknowledged that they want to stay on Merseyside.

The only one who has not made his position clear is Alexander-Arnold, who has insisted on keeping discussions private which has only served to further criticism after links to Real Madrid.
It would be a major blow if Merson’s prediction came true for the Reds, it would be a huge challenge to replace all three.
Even losing one would hurt, both supporters and the playing squad due to their importance to the side who sit top of the Premier League and are through to the round of 16 of the Champions League.
It is embarrassing that the club have even let the situation get to this stage but now it has, it needs to be resolved immediately so the club can move forward and continue their momentum under Slot.
