Trent Alexander-Arnold injury update shared ahead of Liverpool v Tottenham
Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold’s injury is not serious and he will not be set for a lengthy period on the sidelines, according to Dave OCKOP.
The Liverpool insider reported (3 February) that despite having to come off after 70 minutes in his side’s win against Bournemouth, the full-back’s injury is not serious.
However, a decision on whether he will be in the squad for the Carabao Cup semi-final against Tottenham on Thursday (6 February) will be made much closer to the time.
Trent Alexander-Arnold news a relief for Liverpool
Alexander-Arnold has continued to be a standout performer for Liverpool this season and therefore, supporters would have been worried seeing him come off against Bournemouth.
After the game on Saturday (1 February), Arne Slot confirmed that the right-back had asked to come off as a substitute after feeling something and would be a doubt for Thursday’s game.
Therefore, the news that he may be in contention, makes this a big relief as it suggests whatever he felt was not as bad as first feared.
The Reds go into the game at Anfield 1-0 down on aggregate so they will need to be on top of their game to ensure they get a victory to see them through to the final.
With only months remaining on the 26-year-old’s deal and speculation surrounding his future, supporters will be keen to see him have maximum impact in what could be his final months as a Red.
