Liverpool transfer news ‘as two exits now expected’ on Deadline Day
Jayden Danns and Kaide Gordon look set to leave Liverpool on loan before the winter transfer window closes, according to The Mirror.
The newspaper reported via its website (3 February) that Danns is looking towards a loan at Sunderland while Gordon is heading to Portsmouth.
James McConnell, however, will not be leaving Anfield despite Blackburn Rovers trying to get a deal.
Arne Slot sanctions Liverpool exits
Arne Slot has shown this term that he has no problem using the young players in his side, as long as they work hard to earn their place in the team which is exciting for those coming through.
However, the boss will know that having them sit on the bench with limited minutes of playing time will not be the most productive route of development.
Therefore, it’s important that these young stars are given the opportunity to go to the second tier and build up their experience and gain regular minutes before thinking about their future in Merseyside.
Danns heading out to Sunderland is a positive move that should allow for the experience of competing at the top end of the second tier.

Gordon spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Norwich City and scored one goal but only made 10 appearances, prompting his recall.
Portsmouth are a side struggling at the wrong end of the table so this should give the 20-year-old some vital experience to develop his mindset.
James McConnell has made a Champions League appearance for Slot and clearly impressed with the manager deciding he wants him to stay put. Therefore, it’s now up to him to impress on home soil and increase his chances.
