‘Mohamed Salah will stay at Liverpool’ – Steve McManaman
Steve McManaman believes that Mohamed Salah will stay at Liverpool this season.
There has been plenty of speculation about the Egyptian King’s future at Anfield with his contract set to expire at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
The attacker was left out of the Reds’ squad for their 3-2 Champions League defeat to PSV in order to give him a rest before their Premier League clash against Bournemouth on Saturday.
However, while speaking live on TNT Sports 3 (29 January), McManaman shared his thoughts on whether or not the former Roma man will be a Liverpool player next term.
“I think so yes [that Salah will stay], I don’t know anything I must admit but I want him to stay, of course I do and I think it’ll get done, I really do,” he said.
Liverpool must keep Mohamed Salah beyond the 2024/25 season
It goes without saying that Salah is one of, if not the best players in the Premier League at the moment.
The attacker has often single-handedly earned the Reds some valuable points this term and his absence against PSV was more than felt.
While he may not score in every single game, he always manages to have some sort of say in the way that Liverpool’s games play out when he’s chosen.
Alongside Salah, both Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold also have their deals expiring at the end of the season without any of them having signed extensions just yet.

Which is obviously a cause for concern for fans as the trio are some of the Reds’ best players at the moment, even if Alexander-Arnold isn’t playing at 100 per cent.
Only time will tell what the future holds but if one or two of them ends up exiting Anfield on a free transfer, Liverpool will have shot themselves in the foot once again.
In other Liverpool news, Steve McManaman was left stunned by a moment that occurred in the Reds’ Champions League clash against PSV.
