Liverpool transfer twist as new exit terms agreed – Fabrizio Romano
Stefan Bajcetic has agreed to join Las Palmas with immediate effect on loan from Liverpool until the end of the season, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Romano reported via X (30 January) that the midfielder has left RB Salzburg where he was on loan for the first half of the campaign, in order to strike a new deal with the La Liga club.
The 20-year-old has not started a league match for Salzburg since 7 December, which is far from what the Reds would’ve hoped for from his loan move.
Stefan Bajcetic hoping for better with Las Palmas
The 20-year-old will no doubt have been frustrated with his lack of game time with Salzburg with the intention of a loan spell to build up game time after injury issues so it is not a surprise to see a new loan deal has been sanctioned.
The 20-year-old tallied up 11 Premier League appearances in the 2022-23 season but has struggled to break into the first team at Anfield due to ongoing injury issues that have stagnated his growth.
However, there is clearly plenty of talent in the youngster and if he can build himself up again, Bajcetic will surely be looking forward to joining back up with Arne Slot and his parent club in the summer with the hope of getting back of track.
The midfielder will no doubt use his struggles on his previous loan spell as motivation at Las Palmas to ensure he pushes himself as far as possible to get what both he and his parent club are hoping for from the temporary spell.
In other Liverpool news, Arne Slot is bang on about one of his first-team players after what they did against Ipswich last time out.
