Liverpool injury news: EFL manager shares crushing blow for Reds loanee
Liverpool loanee Calum Scanlon is set to be out for the rest of the season after suffering a hamstring injury, according to Southwark News.
The outlet reported (29 January) that the full-back, on loan at Millwall, will be out for approximately 12 weeks which is likely to mean his season is over.
The 19-year-old has had awful luck having made just four appearances on loan in the Championship due to suffering from a back injury in the first half of the campaign.
Calum Scanlon’s hard luck continues away from Anfield Liverpool
This latest news will be a blow for both Scanlon and Liverpool who would’ve hoped that the left-back could go and get regular minutes in the second tier and return to Anfield with appropriate experience under his belt.
However, being plagued with injuries means the experience has been quite the opposite for the 19-year-old who looks to have played all his football for the campaign as it stands.
What is encouraging is that in one of his four league appearances for Millwall, the left-back scored a goal suggesting there is an exciting element to his game that can be unleashed when given the opportunity.

The lack of game time this term means Scanlon will probably find himself moving away from Merseyside again next term in the hope of a more positive move away.
However, for the time being, the youngster will need to focus on his recovery and ensure that when he is given his next opportunity, wherever that may be, he is ready to take it and prove himself to Arne Slot.
In other Liverpool news, Arne Slot is bang on about one of his first-team players after what they did against Ipswich last time out.
