Liverpool fans react to ‘Shocking’ Micah Richards claims on referees
Liverpool supporters are furious after Micah Richards’ latest claims on refereeing decisions.
The former Manchester City star, speaking on the Rest is Football podcast (27 January), claimed that the red card handed to Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly was the worst decision he has ever seen in the Premier League.
However, Reds fans have taken exception to that opinion on social media referencing an incident that happened last season.
Liverpool fans ridicule Micah Richards
The Anfield outfit were subject to one of the most egregious refereeing decisions ever when a blatantly onside Luis Diaz goal was ruled out against Tottenham in the 2023/24 campaign.
The PGMOL were forced to release an apology after the contest and VAR Darren England did not officiate another match involving the Anfield outfit that season.
One supporter sarcastically asked if he had dreamt of the Diaz incident and said “did it really happen?”
Another commented saying the pundit “had a shocker” with his latest opinion.

The relationship between Reds supporters and the PGMOL is at an all-time low after the VAR error against Spurs and the controversy surrounding former Premier League referee David Coote.
He was dismissed from his role after a video emerged with Coote involved in an anti-Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp rant.
England will oversee the Reds’ huge title-race clash with Bournemouth on Saturday (1 February), which will be the first time he has refereed the club since May 2023.
In other Liverpool news, the Reds have held talks over a Borussia Dortmund star, according to a new report.
