Liverpool in talks over Karim Adeyemi transfer amid £37.7m reveal

Liverpool have held talks over signing Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Addressing Napoli’s chances of signing Adeyemi during the ongoing winter transfer window, the Italian newspaper reported via their website (28 January) that the forward’s “dream” is to play in the Premier League, although he is available for around £37.7-41.9million.

Apart from the Reds, Chelsea have also held negotiations over a summer transfer for the 23-year-old, making a deal for Napoli “complex”.

Karim Adeyemi to replace Mohamed Salah at Liverpool?

Adeyemi is comfortable playing across the front three, but him being a left-footer makes him a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.

It is no secret that Salah is in the final six months of his contract at Anfield, with a resolution over a new deal yet to be agreed.

Even if the Egypt international put pen to paper on a new contract, the Reds know that they would have to replace him soon anyway as he turns 33 years old this year.

Therefore, the Merseyside-based club seem to be already thinking about a life without Salah, with Adeyemi firmly on their radar.

At 23, the Germany international has the best years of his career, making him an ideal target for the Anfield outfit.

Arne Slot’s side, though, have to hope that Napoli do not snatch him up during the ongoing transfer window.

Apart from Adeyemi, Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in Anis Hadj Moussa at Feyenoord [Foot Mercato].
