Liverpool-bound player told to quit now by furious fans
Valencia supporters have told Liverpool loanee Giorgi Mamardashvili to leave for Anfield now.
The 24-year-old signed for the Reds in a £29.6 million deal from Valencia last summer [Fabrizio Romano] and was immediately loaned back to the LaLiga outfit.
His loan move was influenced by the presence of first team shot-stopper Alisson and backup option Caoimhin Kelleher, who are competing for a spot between the sticks at Anfield.
However, Valencia supporters want the loan terminated after the goalkeeper was caught in conversation with ex-Valencia forward Ferran Torres in footage circulating via Radio Taronja on X, after a crushing 7-1 loss against Barcelona on Sunday (27 January).
Valencia supporters want to send Giorgi Mamardashvili to Liverpool
Although Alisson has spent considerable time on the sidelines at Liverpool this year, loaning out Mamardashvili was the correct decision.
Kelleher is heading towards the shop window in the summer – any first-team involvement from the Irishman will only increase his value, with Newcastle United circling for his signature [Ben Jacobs].
But the Valencia faithful’s reaction to the soon-to-be Reds goalkeeper is telling. One supporter dubbed him a “rat,” another told him to “leave now”, and another claimed “he doesn’t care what happens to the club.”
One supporter has suggested that his move to Anfield will not work out in the long run, writing: “You’re going to play in Liverpool [for the] champions… next year I [will] see you in Leeds.”

There is no chance Arne Slot will call for Mamardashvili to begin his Liverpool career six months early – he will have to bide his time with Valencia.
Nevertheless, the strong reaction of the fanbase is a cause for concern and will have the Reds supporters wondering if signing the Georgian star was the correct decision after all.
