Slot to rest Gravenberch, seven changes – Liverpool predicted XI v PSV

Liverpool manager Arne Slot is expected to make seven changes to his starting line-up when they travel to PSV on Wednesday.

The Reds need just one point on the final matchday to top the Champions League first phase after the 2-1 victory over Lille on 21 January.

The likes of Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, and Ryan Gravenberch are predicted to be rested after the 4-1 win over Ipswich (25 January).

Joe Gomez, Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones are expected to miss the contest in Eindhoven with injury.

Alexander-Arnold was immense against Kieran McKenna’s side, notching an assist and winning five of the seven ground duels that he contested but he is predicted to be rested for Conor Bradley.

Konate might be rested for Jarell Quansah despite winning 100 per cent of his four aerial duels on Saturday.

Virgil van Dijk is predicted to keep his place in the starting line-up, he completed the most passes in the contest with 132 and won 100 per cent of his two ground duels.

Andy Robertson is expected to be held back too, the Scottish international made 17 passes into the final third and made five recoveries in a throwback performance but Kostas Tsimikas might replace him.

Gravenberch rested for the Reds

Gravenberch has enjoyed a stellar campaign this season and that continued against the strugglers with the Dutchman completing 91 per cent of his passes and making eight recoveries but he might be given the night off with Wataru Endo replacing him.

Alexis Mac Allister is predicted to continue after he recorded a 94 per cent pass accuracy and created three chances on Saturday.

Harvey Elliott might take the place of Dominik Szoboszlai despite the Hungarian opening the scoring and recording a 92 per cent pass accuracy against the newly promoted side.

Mohamed Salah is expected to start on the right wing, the Egyptian scored the second goal to take his Premier League tally to 19 and had 12 touches in the Ipswich box.

Luis Diaz might replace Cody Gakpo on the left flank despite the Dutchman scoring two goals and notching an assist in the clash.

The Colombian did not impress in the number nine role on Saturday as he created zero chances and recorded zero shots so Darwin Nunez is predicted to get the nod upfront.

The Reds will have one eye on a tough top-flight clash with Bournemouth next Saturday (1 February) so Slot will likely ring the changes.

His side only need a point to confirm a first-place finish and the expected line-up should be enough to secure it.
