Liverpool make transfer mistake after what Milos Kerkez said

Liverpool are in dire need of reinforcement across the board with their left-back situation being particularly worrisome.

While Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas are more than decent options, with the Reds topping both the Champions League and Premier League, it feels like some higher-quality options need to be brought.

Milos Kerkez is a name that has been linked with a move to Liverpool recently but it seems like that is now off the table after what he said (iNews).

Fans have been calling for the Reds to make a move for the former AZ Alkmaar man but now, it seems that they need to turn their attention elsewhere.

As, while speaking on a YouTube livestream (23 January), Kerkez shared his thoughts on a potential move to Anfield.

“I will not go to Liverpool. For everybody listening, I will not go to Liverpool,” he said.

This season, Bournemouth, alongside Nottingham Forest, have been surprise packages with both punching above their weight in the Premier League.

In the case of Forest, they have been the Reds’ bogey team this season with Slot losing and drawing against Nuno Espirito already this season.

While there have been times this term when Robertson and Tsimikas have performed to a high standard, it feels like they’re both getting into the latter stages of their careers with Liverpool not yet having a secure plan for the future.

Kerkez’s profile was ideal for the Reds with the way he plays and the fact he’s still just 21 years old.

Slot would have been able to carve the Hungary international into a world-beater and his addition would have no doubt bolstered Liverpool’s ranks tenfold.

At the moment, it’s not clear whether Liverpool will be looking at anyone else but at the moment, all we know is that Kerkez’s potential move can be taken off the table.

In other Liverpool news, a Reds-linked forward has reached a £19million agreement with his club.
