Joshua Kimmich transfer: Liverpool make move for Anfield deal now
Liverpool are interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich on a free transfer, according to CaughtOffside.
The news outlet reports (26 January) that the Reds have made a move for the midfielder, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
While the Bundesliga outfit are keen on keeping the 29-year-old, he’s yet to agree on a new deal at the Allianz Arena.
Liverpool to add experience with Joshua Kimmich free transfer
Kimmich has been one of the best players in Germany for several years now, and the Merseyside outfit would undoubtedly add quality to their squad with his signing.
The 29-year-old’s versatility could also come in handy as he can play at right-back as well.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future at Anfield is seemingly uncertain, so the German midfielder’s arrival next summer would potentially make sense.
The England international will also be a free agent at the end of the season if the Reds can’t agree on fresh terms with him.
Liverpool should also arguably add some experience to their engine room if they can, with Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and Dominik Szoboszlai still relatively young.

While Arne Slot seems to have found the right formula in his first season in charge at Anfield, Kimmich’s addition would unarguably make the squad better.
The 29-year-old is a Champions League winner and has multiple Bundesliga titles to his name, which is the sort of experience not everyone has.
Considering the midfielder’s reputation, it wouldn’t be surprising if multiple top European teams tried to sign him for free.
Will the Reds come out on top in the race? Only time will tell.
In other Liverpool news, a tense academy clash against Chelsea could be on the cards for the youngsters.
