Diogo Jota injury: Doctor shares when Liverpool star is expected to return

Liverpool attacker could be back in individual training after his injury in the first week of February, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that it appears to be a Grade 1 or Grade 2 muscle setback which is keeping the Portugal international out of action.

The 28-year-old last featured for the Reds on 14 January when he scored in the 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Liverpool News: “Sounds like a Grade 1 or 2 muscle injury.

Not much more detail has been given other than that with Slot saying it is a niggle.

He did say to expect him back in a few weeks.

I’m expecting him to begin some kind of individual training come the first week of February.

Diogo Jota has not always been available for Liverpool this season

Due to his injury issues, the 28-year-old has been able to make just seven league starts for the Reds this season.

Whenever fit, he has shown his quality, scoring five league goals and providing two assists in 13 appearances.

Slot will be hoping that once he returns in February, he does not suffer another injury that will extend his stay on the sidelines.
