Liverpool ‘bombshell’ as Real Madrid eye another transfer after Alexander-Arnold
Real Madrid are now looking at making a move for Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate as well as Trent Alexander-Arnold, according to Caught Offside.
The online outlet reported via their website (24 January) that even though the Reds are “continuing” to work towards renewing the Frenchman’s contract, Los Blancos are now “circling” around the defender.
The report adds that Liverpool are hoping to reach an agreement “soon” despite Carlo Ancelotti and his men “closely” following the former RB Leipzig man in a bid to strengthen their back four.
Liverpool cannot allow Ibrahima Konate to leave
If Madrid looking at offering a pre-contract agreement to Alexander-Arnold wasn’t enough, the Reds now have to contend with the bombshell that Konate is also been looked into by Ancelotti.
The Frenchman has been one of the Reds’ best players this term and has once again managed to form a formidable partnership with Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the Merseyside outfit’s defence.
While the centre-back may have been sidelined for a few weeks due to the knee injury he suffered, he’s still been one of Liverpool’s best players.
Now we’re in the winter transfer window, there’s bound to be a number of clubs vying for new signings so it isn’t a surprise to see players linked with moves away.

And, even though no new faces have been brought to Anfield yet, fans have called for Slot to delve into the market to try and recruit some defensive reinforcement for the second half of the season.
Because, if they don’t bring anyone new in and they get a couple of injuries in the same area of the squad, it could cost them the Premier League title.
