Liverpool legend wants shock manager’s job after sack confirmed

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler is in line to take over at Bolton Wanderers after Ian Evatt was sacked, according to the Daily Mirror.

The former Liverpool striker is looking for an opportunity to manage in England after having previous stints in Australia and Saudi Arabia.

The report also adds that the 49-year-old is “interested” in taking on the role at the League One club.

Bolton could be a good step for Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler

Evatt was relieved of his duties after Wanderers were defeated by Charlton Athletic on Tuesday.

The Lancashire-based club currently sit ninth in the League One table despite finishing third in the league last season.

Since his retirement from football, Liverpool legend Fowler has done bits of everything with work in punditry as well as taking on some managerial roles.

Now he seemingly wants a way into the English pyramid and trying to get Bolton back to where they belong could be a good way for him to do that.

Of course, there will be other candidates who are lining up for the role with the Mirror naming Steven Schumacher, Steve Evans and Sam Allardyce as potential candidates for the League One outfit to look at.

Only time will tell what happens with Bolton’s manager but if Fowler is up for it, he could be their best shot at getting back up the table.
