
FSG ‘have nowhere to hide’ at Liverpool as £600m news emerges

According to the Deloitte Football Money League 2025 (23 January), the Reds generated the eighth-highest commercial revenue for the 2023/24 financial period, with a figure of £600million.
Manchester City remain the highest revenue generating English club, with revenues of £706m.
Liverpool’s revenue increased five per cent on the previous year, which stood at £576m.
FSG must back Arne Slot at Liverpool
Pep Guardiola is currently enduring his worst season in charge of Manchester City, and his side have now spent close to £160m in the winter transfer window.
Although Liverpool supporters don’t expect the same level of investment displayed just down the M62, they would like to see FSG show ambition.
The Reds signed two players last summer, Federico Chiesa, who has struggled for minutes, and Giorgi Mamardashvili, who is spending the season on loan at Valencia.
Euro 2024 and Copa America participation, paired with the arrival of Arne Slot, halted all transfer activity at Anfield, but in hindsight, those were lazy excuses by the board.

Richard Hughes also arrived last year and has failed to uphold his main priority at Anfield, albeit the current form of the squad has allowed Hughes to escape scrutiny.
Nevertheless, FSG are notoriously stingy owners, but with Manchester City’s dramatic falloff, Liverpool will never have a better opportunity to emerge as a dominant force in England.
Jurgen Klopp laid the foundations before he waved goodbye to Anfield, but now it is time for Slot to put his own stamp on the squad.
