Curtis Jones injury update emerges ahead of Liverpool v Ipswich clash

Paul Joyce has shared that Curtis Jones is set to miss the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Ipswich on Saturday.

The midfielder was hooked at half-time in the Reds’ Champions League clash against Ligue 1 outfit Lille on Tuesday after he was seen hobbling off the pitch.

Now, it’s been confirmed that the midfielder will miss the game against the Tractor Boys with Arne Slot also having doubts about whether he’ll be available for the games against PSV Eindhoven and Bournemouth.

“Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones to miss Ipswich Town game,” Joyce wrote via his personal X account (24 January).

“Arne Slot unsure whether he will be fit for PSV Eindhoven or Bournemouth.”

Curtis Jones will be a massive miss for Arne Slot and Liverpool

The 2024/25 season has been fairly smooth sailing for Liverpool from day one with the Reds often triumphing over their opponents with ease.

They currently top both the Premier League and the Champions League and have been in some incredible form over the last few months.

While most of Liverpool’s players have had solid seasons, it feels like Jones has been one of the stand-out performers for Slot.

The Dutchman has called upon the Liverpool academy graduate numerous times already this season with the 23-year-old even earning himself his first England call-up thanks to his impressive form.

The Reds’ midfield is one of their most stacked areas at the moment so while a suitable replacement will be drafted in, it’s hard to see how anyone will be able to replicate the energy Jones brings to the midfield.

Especially since his performances have been key in making Slot’s system work this term.
