Liverpool want Stefanos Tzimas transfer sealed ‘immediately’ – Exclusive
Liverpool are prepared to sanction a move for FC Nurnberg loanee Stefanos Tzimas “immediately”, German football expert Christopher Michel has told Liverpool News.
The Reds have remained quiet throughout the winter transfer window despite supporter protests for the squad to be improved but may be forced into the market after Diogo Jota suffered yet another injury setback.
Tzimas has been capturing attention across Europe with his nine goals in 15 Bundesliga appearances this term, Sky Germany reported on 13 January that Liverpool have opened talks Nurnberg to explore the conditions for a move.
However, the German outfit plan to exercise the £15 million purchase option inserted into his loan move from PAOK which could complicate matters but the Fussball News reporter has revealed a deal could be on the cards before the window slams shut on 3 February.
“Liverpool would probably like to sign Tzimas in the winter. Whether they will keep him or sign him now and then loan him out is beyond my knowledge, Michel exclusively told Liverpool News.
“With every day that passes, another interested party is added. In addition, Tzimas’ market value could continue to rise. Liverpool would therefore be willing to go through with the transfer immediately.
“It is normal for a player like this to attract the interest of many clubs. Sky reports that Eintracht Frankfurt is interested. But the most concrete interest I know of so far is from Liverpool.”
Liverpool want to sign Stefanos Tzimas
The Greek Under-21 international is quickly developing into one of the most sought-after prospects in Europe, with Liverpool at the front of the queue for his services.
There are question marks surrounding who will be the man to lead the line for Arne Slot’s side, with Jota continuously struggling with injuries and Darwin Nunez failing to reach the level expected of the club’s record signing.
Although names like Alexander Isak and Jonathan David have been linked with a move to Anfield, the Reds rarely sanction big marquee signings unless a massive outgoing accompanies the expenditure.

Tzimas is a hallmark Liverpool signing – the 19-year-old is fast, skilful with the ball at his feet, has an eye for goal, and, most importantly, is a raw talent who could be shaped into an elite-level Premier League talent.
Therefore, Richard Hughes must act now to land his man before sides such as Eintracht Frankfurt firm up their interest, and a bidding war ensues.
