Liverpool signings: FSG told to sign Kerkez amid ‘jaw-dropping’ Bournemouth news
Liverpool supporters have urged Fenway Sports Group to sign Milos Kerkez after his performance for Bournemouth against Newcastle United.
The 21-year-old has long-term admirers at Anfield, as per TEAMtalk (20 September 2024), as question marks persist regarding Andy Robertson’s ability to perform at a top-class level for the Reds.
However, the interest in his signature is set to intensify after Fabrizio Romano reported on Saturday (18 January) that Liverpool and Manchester United are monitoring the situation after he scored in an all-round display during the 4-1 demolition job of Newcastle.
Richard Hughes is hardly a beloved figure on the red half of Merseyside, but the supporters have shown the sporting director a surefire way to earn some good faith with the disgruntled fanbase.
Liverpool told to sign Kerkez
The Reds returned to winning ways at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday courtesy of an injury-time brace from Darwin Nunez.
Although Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the Premier League, recent displays against Tottenham and Manchester United have the supporters concerned, and they are eager to see some new arrivals in the winter transfer window.
Hughes has become a scapegoat at Anfield for his lack of activity during the summer and for standing idly by while Manchester City bring out the chequebook to solve their problems ahead of a title push in the second half of the campaign.
One supporter described Kerkez’s display as a “jaw-dropping performance”, whereas another described the Hungarian international as a “warrior”.
Amid the sea of Liverpool supporters waxing lyrical over the left-back, one fan believes he is the perfect replacement for Robertson, writing: “Kerkez is the new Andy Roberston! [He] loves flying up and down the left hand side. Solid defender, good going forward and [is] exactly what Liverpool need right now!”

Robertson is regressing in a Fabinho-esque fashion this season – it should hardly be a surprise – he has run his body into the ground for the Reds.
However, Kostas Tsimikas is hardly pulling up trees with his displays on Merseyside, and acquiring a new left-back should be at the top of Hughes’s priority list.
Whether Liverpool will act on the supporters’ calls remains to be seen, but after the fans were frustrated by the lack of activity last year, it would be in Hughes’ best interests to act proactively with Arne Slot sitting atop the Premier League.
In other news, Kris Boyd was stunned by an unexpected moment for the Reds in the clash against Brentford.
