Liverpool news: Shock Manchester United twist emerges in Darwin Nunez chase
Manchester United have emerged as the main candidate to sign Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez, according to Fichajes.
The news outlet reported on 17 January that the 25-year-old’s chapter at Anfield appears to be coming to an end.
It’s understood that the Reds could consider offers for the Uruguay international as he’s fallen down the pecking order. [Caught Offside, 6 January]
Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is unlikely to join Manchester United
Nunez to United appears to be highly unlikely as it would make absolutely no sense to begin with.
While the Uruguayan is not the most consistent of performers, he is adored by the Anfield faithful and would not fancy a move to Old Trafford.
On the other hand, the Manchester outfit also would need to pay big money for the Reds to let go of Nunez.
Also, they have strikers incapable of finding the back of the net so they would be looking out for someone clinical and capable of finding the back of the net regularly.
Liverpool must still consider offers for Nunez if they match their valuation of the 25-year-old forward.

He clearly is incapable of leading the line week in and week out for a side aiming to win the league and challenging on multiple fronts.
In other Liverpool news, a ‘Premier League title could be guaranteed’ with one transfer, says Jamie Carragher.
