Liverpool fans react to new injury twist before Brentford clash – ‘Just sell’
Liverpool supporters have called for the Reds to sell Diogo Jota after it was revealed that he could miss the Brentford clash on 18 January.
Arne Slot confirmed that the Portuguese forward suffered another knock in the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest in his pre-match press conference on 17 December.
The Reds travel to the G-Tech Stadium hoping to extend their lead at the summit of the Premier League to seven points before Arsenal take on Aston Villa in the late game but could be without the 28-year-old.
The former Wolves man has missed six Premier League matches so far this season and has been carefully managed since he returned from injury, featuring for just 130 minutes in the last six games.
Should Liverpool sell Diogo Jota?
After the latest fitness blow, Liverpool fans took to social media to urge the club to sell the injury-prone attacker.
One supporter called the Portugal international “brilliant” but a “walking sick note.”
Another commented that it is “absolutely no good having him at the club” and that a “new striker is needed.”
Here’s what Reds fans had to say;

The former Porto star is arguably the Reds’ best finisher when he is fit but that is a rarity lately.
He turned the Nottingham Forest game around in midweek, with a goal just 22 seconds after replacing Ibrahima Konate, and troubled the hosts throughout his 24-minute cameo.
The clash at the City Ground felt like a major step forward in his recovery but another setback looks set to end his momentum before it has truly begun.
Jota would be the best option for the number nine role by a considerable margin if he could stay fit but unfortunately, injuries are threatening to derail his career on Merseyside.
