Liverpool revive delayed Jurgen Klopp documentary, streaming platform on board

Liverpool have rejigged their behind-the-scenes documentary on Jurgen Klopp, according to The Telegraph.

The newspaper reported via their website on Thursday (16 January) that the revamped version will look back at the German’s entire spell at Anfield instead of the 2023-24 season as initially planned.

Klopp has been re-interviewed since he left the Reds in May, with filming taking place in his home in Majorca, while other key figures have also been talked to encompass his reign on Merseyside beyond just last season.

An unnamed streaming platform has also picked up the documentary, which was slated to release at the end of last season but got delayed after the manager announced his exit last January.

Liverpool fans can rejoice as Jurgen Klopp documentary not shelved

The documentary was expected to be streamed at the end of the 2023-24 season and there was fear among at least some fans that the show might have been shelved as there was no update about its release over the summer.

However, it appears the project is still in the works, although the Reds have had to change the premise of the documentary due to Klopp’s exit.

It makes one wonder if they would have gone ahead with their initial plan if the Merseyside-based club won major trophies last season.

There might have also been concerns about focusing on a single season under Klopp knowing they would have a new manager in the summer.

Nevertheless, fans will be eagerly waiting to see the output of the said documentary, although the new release date remains to be known.

Will we finally get to hear behind-the-scenes details on Zeljko Buvac’s unexpected exit in 2018? That is likely to remain a mystery.

In other Liverpool news, the Reds have an easy transfer decision to make as a mega-rich club eye Mohamed Salah.
