Liverpool have ‘easy transfer decision’ to make as mega-rich club eye Mohamed Salah
Liverpool have been one of the best-performing teams in the Premier League this season.
The Reds currently have a six-point gap between themselves and second-placed Nottingham Forest with Arne Slot’s men even having a game in hand.
However, one thing that has been hanging over the head of both the club and its supporters is where the futures of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk lie.
The trio’s contracts are set to expire at the end of the 2024/25 season with an extension not yet agreed with any of them.
At the moment, it all feels quite up in the air but after what transfer expert Ben Jacobs said live on talkSPORT (16 January, 06:38am), about the future of the Egyptian King, it’s clear where he’ll be heading if he does choose to leave.
“Liverpool are optimistic that [Mohamed] Salah will extend, there’s nothing done with Al-Hilal but it is true that if Salah goes to Saudi, Al-Hilal is expected to be the club,” he said.
Liverpool cannot allow Mohamed Salah to exit Anfield
Frankly Liverpool have an easy transfer decision to make. They simply cannot allow him to leave.
There have already been a couple of times this season when Salah has been questioned about his future.
During each of those times, the attacker shared that he hasn’t yet been offered a contract extension with Slot’s star man seeming to be more out than in at the moment.

Despite all this, however, the fact Liverpool remain “optimistic” about retaining his services is somewhat reassuring but when mega-rich Saudi club Al-Hilal have already been singled out as the team that would go for him, it raises a cause for concern.
At the moment, it’s unclear where the future of the former Roma man will end up leading him but he has proven once again how influential he is, Liverpool simply cannot sanction his exit.
