Milos Kerkez ready to sign for Liverpool as £50m Bournemouth exit news emerges

Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez is leaning towards joining Liverpool if they make a bid to sign him, according to iNews.

The news outlet reported on Wednesday (15 January) that the Reds are “planning to gazump” Manchester City and Manchester United in the bid to sign the 21-year-old Hungary international, who’s seen as a long-term replacement for Andy Robertson at Anfield.

It is understood that Liverpool – as well as their Manchester rivals – have been in contact with Kerkez’s camp and the ex-AZ Alkmaar ace is keen on a move to Merseyside.

Liverpool’s director of football Richard Hughes signed Kerkez during his spell at Bournemouth and iNews claims he’s one of the “major” reasons why the Hungarian is ready to snub City and United in favour of the Reds.

Bournemouth would be willing to see Kerkez for around £50million but they are reportedly under no pressure to sell him.

Is Andy Robertson’s future in doubt at Liverpool?

Robertson, 30, joined Liverpool from Hull City in 2017 and will no doubt go down as an Anfield legend once his time on Merseyside is up.

The Scotland international has played 323 times in all competitions for the Anfield giants, winning a Premier League and Champions League title in the process.

He looks set to add to his silverware collection this season with the Reds currently top of the Premier League.

However, his contract at the club is due to expire at the end of next season, meaning the current winter transfer window or the 2025 summer transfer window are the only times where Liverpool can look to make some money on the Scot, who’ll turn 31 in March.

Even if they don’t sell him and allow his contract to wind down, Robertson could take a young left-back under his wing for his final 12-18 months on Merseyside and Kerkez, an attack-minded left-back who’s on fire at Bournemouth, seems like a good fit.
