Liverpool fans were delighted as Federico Chiesa scored his first goal for the club in the 4-0 win over Accrington Stanley.

The Italian has endured a horrid time with injuries since his move to Anfield last summer featuring just four times for 123 minutes before the FA Cup third-round win on 11 January.

The former Juventus man bagged the Reds' fourth goal in the contest with a stunning low drive into the bottom left corner in a 45-minute cameo.

Supporters were ecstatic with the contribution and it has sparked excitement about his potential impact in the run-in as Arne Slot's side chase Premier League and Champions League glory.

Chiesa finally coming good for Liverpool?

His strike has got fans wondering what could be in the future, one supporter commented in a post on X, saying: "If Chiesa can stay fit and happy at Liverpool he’ll definitely be handy to have around, especially while we’re in all competitions. Bargain."

Another commented: "Slot really should trust Chiesa more now. He'd do even better with better players around him. He can play both sides, not only backing up Mo."

Reports emerged on 31 December [Calciomercato] that the 27-year-old could be loaned back to Italy with the likes of AC Milan, Napoli, and Internazionale seeking a temporary deal.

However, he is set to stay at Anfield and contribute to the Reds' side in the second half of the season as long as he can stay fit.

The goal and his general performance against Accrington was encouraging, despite the low level of the opposition, and has left supporters eager to see more from the Italian ace.

The idea of adding a fully fit and firing Chiesa to Slot's attacking options should be worrying rivals domestically and on the continent.
