Matt Beard has provided a positive update on two injured Liverpool stars ahead of the FA Cup fourth-round trip to West Ham.

The Reds boss confirmed that Marie Hobinger and Sophie Roman Haug are set to return to training in the coming weeks.

The former is set to return from a groin injury for the contest against the Hammers and the latter is set to comeback against Brighton in the Women's Super League the week after.

Beard revealed the news to the club's official website, saying: "Herby should be back in training this week and might be available for the bench against West Ham.

"Sophie will be back in training the week after and hopefully should be back for Brighton."

Big boost for Liverpool

The returning duo is a major boost for Beard and his side who find themselves in eighth place in the Super League.

They have lost their last four league matches without scoring a single goal so they will welcome Hobinger and Roman Haug's creativity and ability in front of goal.

The Austrian international has notched two goals and one assist in eight WSL matches while the Norwegian has one goal and two assists in four league games.

The Reds have had a disappointing season so far and Beard has suggested that he intends to improve the squad in the January transfer window with backing from the club's owners Fenway Sports Group.

Sofie Lundgaard is still sidelined with an ACL injury and there is no update on when she is set to return to action but it is probably still a significant amount of time from now.

However, the return of two of his stars will have Beard raring to get going again after a near-month break against the Irons.
