Liverpool target Omar Marmoush will not leave Eintracht Frankfurt in January, according to TBR Football.

The outlet reported on 2 January that the Egyptian forward intends to stay in Germany and help the 2022 Europa League winners in their quest to qualify for the Champions League.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to the Reds as an eventual successor to his compatriot Mohamed Salah but they face competition from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City for his signature.

However, any transfer for the Bundesliga star will now likely have to wait until next summer after he confirmed his commitment to his current club.

Could Marmoush be Salah replacement for Liverpool?

It is no surprise that the Frankfurt winger has been linked to Arne Slot's side as an eventual replacement for his fellow Egyptian.

For starters, as it stands Salah, who has contributed 37 times (20 goals, 17 assists) in 26 matches, is out of contract in the summer so the Reds would need another attacking player to add to their rotation if he does depart.

The former Wolfsburg man has been in sensational form this season and has been right up there with his 32-year-old compatriot in the scoring charts.

Marmoush has notched 18 goals and 12 assists in just 24 matches this campaign and he has put Europe's top clubs on notice as a result.

The Egyptian wingers could end up together at Anfield, if Salah signs a new deal on Merseyside and the Reds step up their interest in the emerging star.

If that happens, then it would likely spell the end of another attacker's spell with the club as seven attackers in the first-team fold would be excessive.
