Alexander-Arnold ‘gone’: Liverpool fans rage at transfer bombshell – ‘He’s off’
Liverpool supporters are furious after a bombshell dropped on the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
A report from the Daily Mail [28 December] claims that Real Madrid are increasingly confident that the 26-year-old will be tempted to join them.
It states that despite the fact there have been no negotiations between the Spanish side and the Reds star who can agree to a pre-contract deal on 1 January, Los Blancos believe that he will leave.
Liverpool fans left reeling after Madrid news
Liverpool fans have been left reeling by the latest update, one supporters commented in a post on X, saying: “Get this sorted ASAP. He shouldn’t be playing for us any longer if he wants to be elsewhere.”
Another commented saying: “This is on FSG. No one else. They’re refusing to offer Trent what he wants & deserves. Disgraceful owners.”
On one hand, if the homegrown star does leave it will be understandable, he has won all the major honours that he could have with his boyhood club.
However, on the other, it will destroy his legacy at Anfield if he leaves for free to Madrid, a club that has brought the Reds a lot of pain in the past few seasons.
It remains to be seen whether he chooses to stay on Merseyside but unlike Mohamed Salah or Virgil van Dijk, he has not given any public indication that he would like to stay.
Reports of Madrid’s interest could be a ploy by the player’s camp to force the club’s hand but it could also be genuine, leaving Reds fans reeling.
In other Liverpool news, Darwin Nunez could be axed for the trip to West Ham on Sunday.
